32 athletes qualified by the ranking, 24 by the OQT + 8 Japanese. It remained to know the 12 qualified via the criterion of continental representation. It’s done. The WKF has officially announced their names.

The IOC has also chosen 2 athletes under the banner of Olympic refugees, who do not fall within the quota of 80 athletes. Of the 82 Tokyo Olympians, we therefore know 78 of them. The last 4 tickets will be awarded by invitation by a tripartite commission.

They were 56 to have qualified thanks to the ranking and the OQT of last weekend (see the 56 qualified). They are now 12 more, 14 even if we take into account the 2 athletes chosen by the IOC as refugees. Hamoon Derafshipour (-67 kg) and Wael Shueb (Kata M) will carry the Olympic Refugee banner. The Olympic Games will therefore take place with 82 athletes and not 80. There are still 4 places to be allocated by invitation (wild card).

The 12 athletes officially qualified via the criterion of continental representation owe their ticket to Tokyo thanks in particular to their performance during the various Continental Games.
